Over 850,000 people now use AMBER Alert
Millions of people now receive AMBER Alerts thanks to recent registrations by Connexxion, Mediq, DHL and RET and the increasing number of followers on Twitter
AMBER Alert, the largest alert system in the Netherlands, now has over 850,000 individual participants and companies that forward the message to their employees. Amongst those companies are large Dutch organizations, such as the Royal Netherlands Marechaussee, public transport companies such as Connexxion, RET and the NS (Dutch National Railways) and logistics company DHL. AMBER Alerts are also automatically broadcasted on television, motorway signaling systems, and on thousands of other screens in supermarkets, pharmacies, cinemas, gyms, shopping centers, etc. Also, a large number of websites display an AMBER Alert automatically, for instance on social network site Hyves (267,838 members). This makes AMBER Alert the largest alert system in the Netherlands.
AMBER Alert is also very popular on Twitter. More than 80,000 Twitter users are now receiving AMBER Alerts directly through Twitter accounts @kind_vermist and @AMBER_Alert_NL (in Dutch). Also, these alerts are being automatically retweeted by several organizations, such as the public transport company RET, and many well-known Dutch people.
AMBER Alerts are instantly displayed on screens at Mediq pharmacies
